Baby Girl Tice
I heard from Ginger this morning and she called to tell me that she delivered her baby girl via Cesarean section at 5:11 pm on May 18. The baby girl weighed in at 7lbs, 4 ounces. When the doctors noticed it was a meconium birth, they had to rush the baby to Children's Hospital where she was put on a ventilator and will have to stay for 5-7 days. Ginger barely saw her baby girl and that is the reason why they haven't named her. Jason and his parents went to Children's Hospital last night to see the baby. Meconium births are common in late term babies so she will end up being OK, but I have said a few extra prayers for the family. Ginger's parents arrived into town on Sunday, so they were present for the birth and stayed with Ginger while Jason was visiting their daughter. Ginger will be released from the hospital on Friday. I have spoken to her twice today and she assured me that she was resting and that she was doing well. I will go to the hospital and visit her tomorrow. I have never been a mother, but it must feel awful to give birth and then have your baby taken away. No time for bonding. I pray that all goes well.

Like the blog! If you would email Ginger's address to me that would be great! I would like to send her a little note. A friend from church had the same issue with her little boy last week - no section as needed, but he was about a week past due. The good news is that he went home after just three days - a bit earlier than expected. Praying that will happen with Ginger as well.
